re:Sound is the first professional chamber orchestra in Singapore. Formed in 2016, members of the orchestra are conservatory-trained professionals, among Singapore’s most talented and dedicated musicians, who share the vision of enriching the classical music landscape by performing at the highest level.
The music performed by the re:Sound chamber orchestra is centred around the Baroque, Classical and early Romantic periods, but includes 20th century and contemporary works by Bartók, Stravinsky, Shostakovich, John Cage, Philip Glass, György Ligeti, Jonathan Dove, John Corigliano and Stephen Montague.
The re:Sound chamber orchestra presents an average of four concerts a year, collaborating with many top Singaporean and international soloists and chamber orchestra leaders.
Musicians who have performed with re:Sound include violinists Mark Gothóni, Pavlo Beznosiuk, Ike See and Kam Ning, cellist Yuko Miyagawa, pianists Melvyn Tan, Dennis Lee and Lim Yan, toy pianist Margaret Leng Tan, tenor Thomas Ruud, the Nidaros Cathedral Male Choir, as well as conductors Bjørn Moe, Enrico Onofri, Ralf Gothóni, Jason Lai and Lim Soon Lee.
