Resound Collective presents French pianist Pascal Rogé and Spanish pianist Elena Font in a Parisian-inspired programme featuring the duo in Saint-Saens’ comically ironic Carnival of the Animals and Malcolm Arnold’s tuneful and engaging Concerto for Piano Duet and Strings, written in 1951 for the unusual combination of two pianists at one piano. The programme also includes Mozart’s Symphony No. 31 ‘Paris’, written with brilliant special effects that delighted the Parisian musical circles in 1778.
