SYNOPSIS
New takes on one of the oldest musical forms, the Theme and Variations, including the world premiere of Brahms’ glorious Theme and Variations from the String Sextet op.18, adapted by Tan Chan Boon for string orchestra, and Britten’s Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge, the work that catapulted him onto the musical world stage.
Koh Jia Hwei will perform CPE Bach’s delightful Concerto for Keyboard in D minor, and re:Sound pays tribute to the music of Ukraine in Silvestrov’s lugubrious Epitaph, written in memory of his late wife.
